Gaurisagar police seized illegal treacle in Sivasagar district

GAURISAGAR: Gaurisagar police on Saturday recovered 108 treacle (Lali gur) tins during naka checking at Jhanji Jaradhora village under Gaurisagar police station in Sivasagar district. According to police sources during checking, a vehicle bearing registration no AS 02 CC 5814 was coming from Phulpanichiga Majumelia side. When the police told them to stop they tried to run away. But the police were able to seize the vehicle at Jaradhora village and found 108 treacle tins which are used to make illicit liquor. The arrested persons were identified as Johidul Islam (driver) and Rohmot Ali. Both are residents of Hojai district.
